Media’s Coverage of the Presidential Election

How social media and various news stations view the presidential candidates, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, in the US presidential election has a huge impact on the voters. What you read on Facebook or in newspapers is not always neutral, and it is smart to do some pre-research and find out if the sources may be biased before you take a stand.

But still they seem to be a bit more republic than democratic. On their webpage they have various articles about the US election, and  in the headlines of the articles you can see that they are a bit more supporting of Trump and the republicans.

CNN was the first news channel in the United States of America, and is considered relatively neutral in considering the election. They cover the election with political debates held by the hosts of the show, where both political parts get to say their word and convince the people with their opinion. All in all CNN follows the election in a very proffesional way and they seem to be neutral.Bilderesultat for cnnNew York Times is the biggest newpapers in New York, and one of the biggest newspapers in all of the states. It has been on print since 1851. They follow the election close and seem to be pretty neutral, still their election forecast claim that Hillary Clinton has a 92% chance of becoming president of the USA .Bilderesultat for the new york times

summaries of the election, and they also include som presidential gossip. The presidential race ratings on their webpage, claims the democratic side has a bigger chance of winning.

National Public Radio is a half independent radio station funded by both public- and private donations. Their radio program All Things Considered is the USA’s most listened to radio program. They are neutral and cover a lot of topics with in politics.

 

The Rush Limbaugh Show has 13,2 million weekly listeners, and is lead by the conservative host Rush Limbaugh. Limbaugh covers a lot of the presidential election, and is one of Trump’s biggest supporters. He even sells  T-shirts on his webpage saying “Never Hillary” and “I’m a Hillary deplorable”.Bilderesultat for the rush limbaugh show

All in all it seems like the biggest media platforms are the most neutral, while the smaller stations are a bit more biased.  Remember to read and listen to multiple sources before you decide your judgement on the case. This way you can prevent getting fooled by not neutral sources.
